How does Skin Tightening work?

The skin tightening system deposits heat deep in the skin without affecting the skin’s surface.  Therapeutic radio frequency energy is deposited deep in the dermis creating a uniform, contained zone of heat.  As the collagen in heated above 60◦C, it denatures, and the fibril contracts and thickens.  In the months following treatment, the body’s natural wound-healing processes result in the generation of new collagen and dermal remodelling.  As new, “younger” structured collagen is laid down, the skin looks tighter, firmer and more youthful.

Is the Skin Tightening treatment right for me?

Our skin tightening treatments are suitable for all skin tones, hair colours and any other characteristic.  Anyone wanting to treat mild-to-moderate wrinkles and achieve smoother skin can be treated.  Treatments take about 15 minutes and you can return to normal activity immediately.

When can expect results?

A series of treatments are recommended for best results.  Although some improvement will be seen within a month to a few months, the skin should continue to improve for several months after treatment as new collagen is generated.

Does it hurt?

Most patients report a gentle warming sensation and discomfort, even mild discomfort, is rare.
